I recommend listening to this conversation—it reinforces that the arts are at the heart of human expression. If more people recognized how essential the arts are to our well-being, we’d live fuller lives—and artists would be paid what they’re worth. . www.linkedin.com/video/event/...

Send me your mailing address in the chat and I'll mail you this postcard. My wife's late uncle left tons of unused old stamps. This is not just about you getting it, but about all of the postal workers who'll see it. And if you live in a super fucking Republican area, I really want to send you one!
A postcard (stamped using old stamps in many denominations) reading:

The US Postal Service:
Is not motivated by profit.
Is mandated to provide service to every zip code
including affordable service for rural areas.
Is used for mail-in ballots.
Is in the Constitution. (Read: ArtI.S8.C7.1 for
historical background on postal power.
Promotes Diversity and Inclusion:
Employees are 21% African-American; 8% Hispanic;
8% Asian-American/Pacific Islander;
.67% American Indian or Alaska Native.

You can:
Use USPS for shipping.
Buy stamps and use them.
Order from businesses that ship with USPS.
Stop ordering from Amazon.
Call your Representatives.
Find your reps by using www.5calls.org.
Tell postal workers you love them.
Tell postal workers you have their backs.
A postcard that reads: "TRUMP wants
 to KILL the US POSTAL SERVICE
Say NO to USPS PRIVATIZATION" sitting on top of a bunch of stamped backs of the same postcard.

My series "Forgetting is so long" explores memory, identity, and loss through painted over enlarged abandoned family photos. Who do we remember and why? These are political questions as much as social/personal. I'm interested in creating an expansive living archive through this. #art #painting 1/2
Lifesize painting of a woman seated on a chair outside in front of a painted backdrop. She has her head resting in her arm that rests on the top of the chair. It is a painted over photograph—the face and hands are color washed in a gradient of aqua and chartreuse, and she wears a mustard long sleeved blouse and long striped skirt. Beneath her is grass, and at the bottom right are wood and objects piled together. She has a floral pattern emerging from her hand, and perched at different points are birds as part of the pattern.

The painting is framed with fabric and tassels/fringe. There are large "windows" of one fabric pattern which is of birds, that frames her on either side—they are punctuated by tassel fringe arcing towards her. The other fabric is a black floral and small bits of an aqua floral. At the bottom hang a few more tassels. Detail of "Untitled (Seated Chartreuse and Teal Woman with Painted Backdrop and Birds)," showing the bottom corner of the painting, as well as the bottom fabric framing with two sizes of tassels (two larger ones dangle from the farthest right corner), and the black and aqua fabrics are more visible. In the painting, you can also see a close up of the floral pattern against the grass, as well as one of the birds. The bottom of the backdrop is present, and you can see the original signature repainted onto it.
