Cannot tell you how much I hate this & how ashamed & angry I am that @ukri.org have taken this step. We KNOW this sort of gAI is socially biased, we KNOW it favours slopAI output over human-written. Our research landscape is falling apart due to underfunding, & they do this? it's *appalling*

Beyond mecA: a two-tiered mechanism and regulatory rewiring drive high-level ceftaroline resistance in clinical MRSA | Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a growing threat to global health, contributing to an estimated 4.95 million deaths in 2019 (1). Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is among the most persistent and clinically challenging pathogens, causing infections ranging from bacteremia and pneumonia to osteomyelitis and endocarditis in both healthcare and community settings. MRSA’s ability to evade multiple antibiotic classes, particularly β-lactams, has made it a priority pathogen for new treatment strategies.
