The early days of Covid showed us that if the government wanted - they could take care of everyone. They could provide a universal basic income, accommodate the needs of disabled people who had been pleading for remote healthcare & other services for years. They could keep us fed, safe and housed 🧵

I’m struggling with the fact that Luxon doesn’t seem to understand that HIS COALITION are meant to prepare a budget with new funding from May next year. And the next 2 years. Does he think Labour has funded his entire 3 year term upfront ? Because that’s what it sounds like. 🙄

#NZpol Our Govt will act increasingly erratic bc they saw how successful these RW culture wars were overseas, and focused very hard on building their networks up to *ensure* a slice of that action. So our responses must be as equally comprehensive. Understand we're dealing w/ a far nastier RW now.
