Muramasa: Revenant Blades Announced for Early 2027
Marvelous and Vanillaware have announced Muramasa: Revenant Blades. The game is an enhanced remaster of 2009 action RPG Muramasa: The Demon Blade / Muramasa Rebirth and will release in early 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, making it the first Vanillaware title to release on PC.
Physical pre-orders will be available soon through the Marvelous USA Online Store and participating retailers. A standard edition will be available on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch for $49.99, and on Nintendo Switch 2 (full cartridge) for $59.99. A Limited Edition will also be available for pre-order for $89.99/$99.99, containing a copy of the game, an art book filled, a seven-track CD soundtrack selection, and a 10”x14” byōbu folding screen.
Muramasa: Revenant Blades is set deep in Japan's past as a conflict erupts over the fabled swords forged by the legendary Senji Muramasa. These swords grant their owner incredible power, but also a blood-sated madness. The Revenant Blades version will include a brand new localization, including English voiceover, with all six protagonists from the Murasama Rebirth release available from the start, as well as support for up to 4K resolution, new combat and weapon systems, and additional modes and gameplay options.
