Since we've been fighting through my wife's cancer treatment we've been looking for comfort tv. We found Superman & Lois to be fun and funny comfort. Then we got to Season 3...we can't escape cancer stories even in the superhero world.

A massive tornado just went over the town grid of Taylorsville, Mississippi. The meteorologist on TV became emotional when he saw the radar image, said a prayer on air for them and said he fears Smith County search and rescue will have a massive effort ahead of them.

When discussing the "Everyone is welcome here" sign, the district told the Statesman that it was not the message that was at issue, but rather the hands of different skin tones on the poster.

"While 'Everyone is welcome here' is a general statement of being welcoming, concerns arose around the specific visual presentation of the signs in question and whether they aligned with district policies on classroom displays," Scheppers said in an email.

True story: a few years ago, I was being interviewed by a reporter for the New York Times. I mentioned the history of eviction statutes and how they tied into Jim Crow. The reporter asked "what's Jim Crow?" When I explained, the reporter didn't believe me and said the US wouldn't do that.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service. “Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

I would caution people to stop relying on the Constitution as written to have any meaning other than what the people Trump put on the Supreme Court says it means. "He can't do that" is not a useful response to the things he's going to do. The correct response is "Will the Court uphold that?"
