Very specific but I also liked how I didn’t find the game to be overwhelmingly big and long. It’s not a short game, but it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Good pacing and knows when it’s time to end. As I said, easy recommend if you like Metroidvania-platformers. #gaming

Fairly challenging but not as hard at all as the aforementioned HK -a bit trickier if you’re going for the platinum due to requiring both a “no heal” and a “no death” run, the former being the annoying one (just pressing the heal button can void the trophy). It’a doable, just be careful. #gaming

Finished and got the plat for Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus. It’s a solid Metroidvania-platformer, heavily inspired by Hollow Knight in some parts. Easy recommend if you like this kind of games. Great aesthetics and atmosphere as well. #gaming

Something I always thought could improve in Zelda 2 is if more items had usage in both the overworld and sidescrolling, so I’ve made my abilities function in both. Each of these lets you pass different scenarios of overworld obstacles #indiegame #gamedev #indiedev #gaming #retrogaming

The world is ready for a 2D Mario Metroidvania. Wall-jumping and ground pounds are now abilities you unlock through the game. I think there was a very complex (and impressive) SMB1 rom hack that actually did this.

Something I dislike, but we're getting into trophies/achievements territory here, so it's optional content: the no heal and no death trophies. I don't get those in general, kind of ruins the pace, though admittedly it's up to the players to tackle those. Not a big fan. Still a great game tho.

Started playing Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus. Visually stunning, knows its inspirations very well gameplay-wise and builds on it, very fun to play so far, great music and atmosphere. Unless I'm missing something, why isn't this game more popular? It's really good. #gaming

Funny because when I approached the Souls games for the first time one reason I really liked them was because they kind of scratched that specific itch of exploring an obtuse dark fantasy dead world with giant trees and branches everywhere, something that Faxanadu did almost 40 years ago for me.

I know it's not a "what was your first game" post but in my case they kind of overlap. Some of my earliest memories are related to NES games. It's easy to say SMB3 (and it wouldn't be wrong), but Faxanadu and The Guardian Legend still influence me today when it comes to taste and *making* games.

Got the platinum for Vampire Crawlers yesterday. While it can get brutal at times, it’s generally fast, not too challenging, satisfying, and fun. Loved it, not as peak as its Survivors daddy, but still a very valid take on the bullet-heaven genre. Still no vampires though! #gaming
