Finished and got the plat for Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus. It’s a solid Metroidvania-platformer, heavily inspired by Hollow Knight in some parts. Easy recommend if you like this kind of games. Great aesthetics and atmosphere as well. #gaming

Something I always thought could improve in Zelda 2 is if more items had usage in both the overworld and sidescrolling, so I’ve made my abilities function in both. Each of these lets you pass different scenarios of overworld obstacles #indiegame #gamedev #indiedev #gaming #retrogaming

The world is ready for a 2D Mario Metroidvania. Wall-jumping and ground pounds are now abilities you unlock through the game. I think there was a very complex (and impressive) SMB1 rom hack that actually did this.

I know it's not a "what was your first game" post but in my case they kind of overlap. Some of my earliest memories are related to NES games. It's easy to say SMB3 (and it wouldn't be wrong), but Faxanadu and The Guardian Legend still influence me today when it comes to taste and *making* games.

Got the platinum for Vampire Crawlers yesterday. While it can get brutal at times, it’s generally fast, not too challenging, satisfying, and fun. Loved it, not as peak as its Survivors daddy, but still a very valid take on the bullet-heaven genre. Still no vampires though! #gaming

Anyone remember that early Pokémon episode where there was this talking Gastly impersonating an actual ghost because of the love of the game and then kicking everyone's ass with shapeshifting abilities? This was the first episode of the anime I've ever saw btw, imagine that. Still love it.

Still playing Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. I like the gameplay: it's soulsly obviously but there's some flashiness to your moveset that's quite interesting. However, while I was initially quite positive about the whole thing, I got issues with this game, especially the bosses. #gaming

What I find interesting in Wuchang is that its level design harkens way back to Demon's Souls: large areas with just one bonfire usually surrounded by shortcuts. My issue with this is that I've never been a big fan of how this was handled in Demon’s and this still rings true in Wuchang. #gaming
