Rest in Peace, Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman. She was targeted and assassinated on June 14, 2025 between 2 am and 3:35 am CDT in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Vance Boelter was targeting 70+ Democrats at the time of the incident.

Melissa Hortman was assassinated by a Trump loving right wing extremist who killed her husband and her dog as well in the attack. This was targeted and pre-meditated political terrorism of which the assassin, Republican Vance Boelter, was trying to get about 70 more people at the time of his rampage. 2 others were injured.

I work in public health, and am 'not *officially* autistic but everyone including my therapist and psychiatrist are pretty sure'. And oh my GOD I am exhausted from autism being the anti-public health intervention boogeyman. Vaccines don't cause autism.

When I was in HS my school was big enough that I couldn't reliably get to my locker during the day, which meant I was generally carrying maybe 20+ pounds of stuff around all day (mostly textbooks). The idea of doing that in a tote bag is nightmarish.

I cannot decide what the funniest thing about this story is. Whole Foods? The chip bag? That the reporter thought it was just a weird gift of a snack first? The amount of money? The plea to not report it?

The City reported that Greco had texted Honan to meet her inside a Whole Foods store after they both attended the opening of Adams’ campaign headquarters in Harlem.

When given the chip bag, Honan at first thought Greco was just giving her a snack and said she could not accept it but Greco insisted, according to the report.

Honan left and later discovered the money, then called Greco and told her she could not accept it and asked to give it back. Greco said they could meet later but then stopped responding, the report said.

Greco later called The City back and asked them not to do a story, saying: “I try to be a good person,” the news outlet reported.

As a New Yorker who loves public transit I get so mad, because weekday ridership averages about 4 *MILLION*. That's 4,000,000 trips per DAY. Does violence happen? Sure. But it's statistically much safer than driving.

You know, I think one of my favorite things is when people adopt dogs who have been living on the street, time passes, and it's like "this is my dog who refuses to sleep anywhere but a human bed with a pillow, or who won't eat food that's not prepped and served Just So" or things like that.

Kuiper, a black dog with a white patch on her chest, is lying on a sofa with her head on a pillow. The sofa is where I slept overnight visiting my sister, but it's Kuiper's sofa.
