25 years ago I was at boarding school. They interrupted 2nd period to tell us there was a terrorist attack in NYC and they would give us more updates at lunch. That was it. I never watched anything on TV b/c we weren’t allowed. Just went to classes like it was a normal Tuesday. Weird day.

So I'm going to lose my hearing, but may keep the tinnitus. Awesome.

Hearing Loss - In small tumors, it is sometimes possible to save the hearing by removing the tumor. Some tumor: are larger, however, and the hearing is lost in the involved ear as a result of the surgical procedure. Therefore following surgery the patient hears only with the remaining good ear.

Tinnitus- Tinnitus (ear noise) remains the same as before surgery in most cases. In %10 of the patients the tinnitus may be more noticeable.

Told that I will need to have brain surgery that will leave me permanently deaf in the right ear and about 6 weeks of recovery but I'm more worried about keeping my daily streak in my solitaire game. I'm at 240 days! I don't want to lose that!!

Got my brain scans all done and on a CD. Now I just need a computer with a CD drive, the necessary software to read the images, and years of medical training to understand what the images say. Or I can wait until my doctor’s appointment next Thursday.

I used genAI once back in 2024. Constant Contact was testing out help with writing emails. Enter some words and it’d come up with a paragraph. I entered: “women’s fellowship; coffee meet up; all invited; once a month.” What I got back: “Hey ladies, it’s that time of month again…” Never again.
