The first time my character met this guy, he bragged about becoming a legend of racing and then immediately proceeded to rank dead last in the following race. Truly an incredible character.

I've been loving it so far, it's such a spectacle and I love how they give character to the other racers. I didn't know if I would like the roguelite aspect of the campaign, but it has been a lot of fun! Also there is a loth-cat sitting on a gonk droid and they are the MVPs of my heart.

There have been two occasions in my career where I had to go to war with teammates against mistaken understandings of probability. In both cases, it was because people expected large numbers of d6s to occasionally result in maximum damage. But the curves for 3d6 and 15d6 (e.g.) look like this:

I believe Planetfall has a lot of the building blocks that were used to make Age of Wonders 4 such a fantastic game, but it is more difficult to read the UI and the tech tree was a bit opaque. I remember the game fondly but AoW4 is just a lot more enjoyable to actually play.

I played on a higher difficulty with permadeath, and the game absolutely punishes you if you don't play tactically. Especially for the time it released, the UI is quite intuitive to help you position your squad and I had to use their abilities all the time.

What a crazy coincidence, I was somehow compelled to play though this game last month. I just finished the campaign, and I would actually say that the tactical 3rd person shooter mechanics is a strength of the game.

I really recommend the 2022 documentary “It’s Quieter in the Twilight,” which profiles the scientists working in relative obscurity to keep the Voyager spacecraft operating—many of them past retirement age, but unwilling to quit until the Voyagers do. It was very sweet and thought-provoking.

I was legitimately shocked at how many games in the Next Fest are advertised using AI-generated thumbnails and screenshots. It's way past the usual "it's just a placeholder" excuse. I don't understand how anyone could choose to showcase their work using "art" that looks this bland.
