I have spent the rest of the month's grocery money on a very nice book. I know this was the right thing to do but be aware if you are visiting there will be a lot more cooking from my freezer and store cupboard than usual :-)

It’s new rowing machine day! This one has a lot more resistance. The old one has gone to someone in rehab. I am very excited, the ovens way beyond me :-) I love something to aim for.

Back from a local foraging walk. Pretty dissappointed; I now know 4 plants (after an hour) and much more about everything speaker finds evil about non-organic food. left when discussion began about which organic veg delivery service is best Enjoyed the walk with my friend/ child afterwards a lot!

I can now do a full workout on the hardest setting of my rower and have energy left. Time to upgrade. Shout if you know someone I can donate the old one to - bit creaky but works fine as a starter machine.

Today was a free electricity hours day (my meter still shows what I used,I just get a rebate.) laundry+drying x 3, baked, cooked rice, ot water for a long bath, I'm doing the cooker hood filters in the dishwashed. Still not going to get over £4.50 for the day. I feel like I didn't try hard enough.

I would rather
eat Quavers that are six weeks stale,

If I was bored
in a waiting room in Perivale,
on a twelve-hour trip on Network Rail,
halfway through a circumnavigational sail,
I would not read the Daily Mail.

I would happily read
the autobiography of Dan Quayle,
1001 Things You Can Do With Kale,
selected scripts from Emmerdale,
if it meant I didn’t have to read the Daily Mail.

Far better to
stand outside in a storm of hail,
scratch a blackboard with a fingernail,
be swallowed by a humpback whale,
than have to read the Daily Mail.

If I was blind
and it was the only thing in Braille,
I still would not read the Daily Mail.

If you worked a substantive part-time job during the academic year, you should have your degree upgraded by one increment. 2:1 to 1st. 2:2 to 2:1, etc. This reflects the time handicap that your rich peers didn't suffer.

I am fed up because it's my birthday tomorrow and I have a cold; no walks /coffees /cinema. Also I am hoping to be well enough to go on vacation on Sat. I'd love to make plans to see people in the new year, to cheer myself up. I do have a nice food delivery organised, and it'll be a home spa day!
