We really need to have a more sober take on AI. It’s not a solution for better meteorological data… or am I missing something? Seems like a trend everyone has hopped on to.

One of the worst narratives is that the private sector drives innovation. No they don’t. They put profit above innovation for problem solving.

Narratives are as important as facts. “We have a teen pregnancy pandemic on this continent” - World Health Summit regional meeting Perhaps we have a sexual violence pandemic globally and it’s a shared problem.

a gargantuan economic development that healthier societies would be well positioned to exploit politically. but we have xenophobia and hyper policing as our de facto climate policy instead of managed fossil fuel phase out. this is not an accident

One frustrating thing about the way Mandela has been memorialised is that people immortalise him as a benign grandpa who wanted everyone to hold hands instead of the absolute fucking revolutionary that he was. Mandela sacrificed more in a single lifetime than most of the world put together.

We need to record truth. Seek more truth. Speak truth. Share truth. The subscription economy and knowledge and data being in certain hands means others control archives and thus narratives.
