* Nearly insatiable. It was probably satiated in her last flight to test whether a broomstick could survive having its bristles pulled out one by one in mid-air. According to the small black raven she had trained as a flight recorder, the answer was almost certainly no.

But these lacunae of joy and these intermittent journeys to places and people that make me happy are how I hold up in the chaos we live in, and travel is, I suppose, as much a sacrament for me as a source of joy.

Over 6,000 people appears for the Hands Off! rally in Pittsburgh today, where the march basically shut down Downtown. In true Pittsburgh fashion, we remade Steelers fight songs into chants and called Musk and Trump jagoffs. The energy was palpable. We’re ready to fight back. It’s time to rise.
