Yep to all of this. There is simply not enough private foundation money in this country to make up for the massive federal shortfalls DOGE has wrought. They are trying to fill the gaps, particularly the Mellon Foundation, but it's an impossibility.

I am cis and had a bi boyfriend and other women (and men!) were big weirdos about it. It never made sense to me. "What if he cheats on you with a man?!?" Friend, if he cheats on me, he's gone. Period. The gender of who he cheats with is deeply irrelevant to me.

You can't knowingly send your kid to a failing school, decide they'll be ok regardless because of your level of intelligence and privilege, and then just...not exercise any of that leverage to assist them. And then be shocked the failing school failed them. That's not parenting.

I went to an all Black deeply under resourced elementary school and ended up at an elite PWI. Your parents can, in fact, make up for the deficit. They just have to actually DO THAT. Not just complain at the principal. They have to actually engage in educating you.

Just scanned this for my film project & only remembered we had a copy yesterday as the last monuments were taken down in Richmond.
