The quality of the writing is noticably weaker, there's very few live-action cutscenes which added a lot of charm to Control 1 and the atmosphere is just a lot less strong. It just feels very "sequely" which is not something I would really expect of Remedy

I know I just praised Control Resonant in the previous posts, but the more I play it the more apparent it becomes that something is just missing here. Despite them trying something new with the gameplay it feels very derivative of both the genre and the "franchise".

Blood of Dawnwalker is soooo goood. You can really tell it's made by some of the Witcher 3 devs. It's scratching that exact itch. Also am really happy they tried something new with the time system. Does add a whole new sense of weight to your decisions.

It's hard to put into words how much fun learning guitar has been. This is the first hobby since Melee that I can just do all day without getting bored of it. There's so much fun stuff to learn, be it theory or mechanics and none of it has been boring so far. I love music aaaaaaa

I have recurring mouth ulcers which usually get worse with unhealthy habits or when my immune system is fighting something. It was kinda bad the last couple weeks, but I think I was just fighting the Kornspeicher plague which has gotten a lot of people. Shoutouts immune system.

I'm normaly very hesitant to sell stuff, especially consoles which often hold sentimental value for me. However with the PS5 I'll just be glad to be rid of it. With Sony being mind-bogglingly greedy (average big video game company tbh) and very disappointing games, the vibes have just been so off.

Mental health is getting worse again, after the last couple of months were "okay". So much of the struggle with depression is completely invisible and feels really isolating as a result. I miss feeling like myself around friends and that things are going to be okay.

This is so, so well-articulated.

People call this friction "grunt work." Schwartz uses exactly that phrase, and he's right that LLMs can remove it. What he doesn't say, because he already has decades of hard-won intuition and doesn't need the grunt work anymore, is that for someone who doesn't yet have that intuition, the grunt work is the work. The boring parts and the important parts are tangled together in a way that you can't separate in advance. You don't know which afternoon of debugging was the one that taught you something fundamental about your data until three years later, when you're working on a completely different problem and the insight surfaces. Serendipity doesn't come from efficiency. It comes from spending time in the space where the problem lives, getting your hands dirty, making mistakes that nobody asked you to make and learning things nobody assigned you to learn.
