We get fresh duck Breast at the farmers market here in the Hudson Valley every couple of months or so. It cooks up wonderfully and it can be dressed up with so many sauces.

Beyond banning private health insurance, would you ban private medical care??? i.e. cash only medical care. They did that in Canada. And what is to be done about hospitals or MDs that decide not to participate in Medicare for all? Are they to be penalized? Forcibly taken over???

Yeah, just put it about this somewhere else in the thread, but the UK is currently closing maternity units because they cannot maintain enough midwife/nurses for laboring women. Simply creating a socialized system does not immediately solve healthcare Staffing.

Currently in the United Kingdom, they keep closing maternity units because they are not enough RN/midwives to provide safe patient ratios for laboring women. And that is in a country with socialized medicine.

Yeah, pretty clear that Medicare, for all would cause some significant demands to the healthcare workforce, probably in ways we can anticipate and then other ways we can't. Both Canada and the UK are dealing with healthcare workforce issues, basically lack of money to pay for enough staff.

Today we got to spend most of the day in #Brooklyn, my former home for more than a decade. We had a kid birthday party in Park Slope, and then met up a friend and her family in Bed-Stuy. I've forgotten how good life can be here. (Albeit not cheap).

An Aperol spritz cocktail on a picnic table with glasses of water, rolled up napkins, and plate plates surrounding it. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
