Just seen someone complaining that they could't take their dog into A&E. A&E. It's not even eight in the bloody morning yet.

A viscacha, a floofy grey rodent that looks like a rabbit and a chinchilla had a fat baby, sits human like and peers at the camera. They, like me, appear to be 100% done with this shit.

We thankfully did remember the WFRP4e rules last night and Fortune Points started to see some use, turning frowns upside down. Also we tested to see if the "whisper roll to GM" function on the Roll20 VTT character sheet works, and we're happy to report it does!

Realised I've become an evangelist about A Thing. But... You really *do* need to listen to the audiobook productions, before you completely dismiss it. No, I realise this doesn't help if you don't do audiobooks. Yes, I can see how a lot of this, humour and drama alike, may fall flat on the page.

Back when I was getting a posh coffee every time I went to work, I only experienced this twice. Once, it was a complex but regular order, the person reeling it off by rote; the barista immediately knowing what they wanted. The other... well "and a chai latte, ABSOLUTELY NO CARDAMOM!" haunts me. 🙃

The kid puts up with years of dysfunction from a shitty parent, and then, one day, finally understands they would never change/would never care. So, they cut their losses and save themselves. But "she cut contact over a haircut" makes the kid sound crazy, so that becomes the parent's story.

Since I'm sat here thinking about one-shots, I wonder if people agree with me on this one: In a one-shot, if you're intending to have the players make a Big Moral Choice™️, it should either be the first or the last big choice of the session. Either have it impact the whole game, or be its climax.

I love people's creativity with OCs as an art / writing project, and I'm even willing to sit down and talk if someone wants to bring their existing OC into a #ttrpg campaign, with caveats and compromise. Nine times out of ten, they're happier creating a new OC from the campaign and spinning it out.

If I'm using pregens outside of a con (say for testing a system or running a one shot for friends) I'll deliver a player a complete package: names, images and all. I'll let them know they're free to pick name, gender, or other small changes before play. Most often, all they add is a nickname.

Honestly, perhaps the saddest thing about the able bodied assimilation and infuriating misuse of "spoons" is that most of them have never read the original essay on chronic illness. I'm sure many of them would be appalled by what they've done by co-opting language to describe their minor ailments.

I was diagnosed in 2007, following a long process that began in 2006. Through pacing and "rest exercises" I managed to stay in full time employment until 2010 and part time employment until 2017. I was essentially left to my own devices after 2008. The rest was all me, figuring out what worked.
