Something i dont flat out comprehend is how free will is not proven by our actions and choices, and that if we were on a predefined path (although in all reality it would by cycles with adaptations if so at all) that predefined path wpuld account for free will, and does not realy disprove it?

I like novels and writing novels, and will never not be doing it, (and same for ttrpgs) but when it comes to what i care most in the world it is short stories, as a medium and format especially in speculative fiction, and my biggest dream in the world is to be editor of a short story magazine.

While i liked backrooms for the most part - and its good to see a mature execution of the concept - just the longer it goes the more i feel it was just too damn conventional. It didnt really hit the marks i think the contemprary scp-control style genre can hit, and it could have took more risks

Whats worse imo is people trying to backwards import this into literature - often just randomly calling random pre-existing works "solarpunk" for some reason - but because its wholly aesthetic its so vapid. It has no style or mode or tradition like cyberpunk.

Something i feel is that the radicalising of today is not so much that right wing/bigotry is worse - and yes displays of that hate is worse - but its always existed; weve seen nazi empire(s) before. But support against that hate is higher than ever; which causes "radicalisation" as a sentiment.
