Yeah - it gets really useful when you’re spinning up like a dozen similar hosts at once and want it repeatable but programatic. Ive it the problem it solves, but my brain doesn’t work the way nix demands it to 😋

I keep setting up new debian instances, with little tweaks here and there based on what im doing - and so it seems to reason that nix would let me define how I'd want certain systems built repeatedly. The cost is learning nix - which I am not yet willing to do.

Other companies said it was daft to build a scanner into a computer, but I built it all the same, just to show ‘em. It jammed all the time. So I built a second one. That also jammed. So I built a third one. That froze the computer, caught on fire, and jammed. But the fourth one worked!
