One quite reliable way I've found to keep my brain working on the same game is to make some soundtracks early on. Pre-rendered sprites influenced by Harvest Moon 64 / Story of Seasons.

Using the original Harvest Moon 64 inventory UI to showcase pre-rendered sprites, will not look like this in game.

Two items are in the inventory: pruners with butterfly wing shaped handles and a blue plastic watering can with a giant yellow flower spout. All were sculpted first and then re-sized and re-colored in Aseprite.
