I’m preparing for my first craft show and some of my items are handmade one-of-a-kind notebooks. I’ve been wondering how I will display them in my booth. And then today at Joann’s I was able to buy two of these… they hold the notebooks perfectly and now I have a piece of Joann history 🥹

my favorite is when a person will calmly say something like: "I won't shop at Hobby Lobby because I disagree with their politics" and some lady is responding to all those with "yes, but.... be kind"

Sara Schaefer @saraschaefer1.bsky.social · 19/03/2025

anyone who is reacting negatively to the post is getting a lot of "why do you people have to make EVERYTHING political???" (ehhh Hobby Lobby took their case all the way to the supreme court to chip away at abortion rights)

I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

A poster for the economic blackout on February 28. It is a big red Jack rabbit on an aqua blue back ground. It says economic blackout in hand done black type. There are two black speech bubbles. One says “don’t buy stuff Friday February 28th. The other says we have power. Below it says No Amazon, Walmart, target, gas food, gas. Below that it says OK small business, use cash. Designed by Martha Rich.

1% Swiftie, 99% Livie. One of my puffy paint embroidery projects, this one conceptualized by my niece Jana. For those who don’t know (me, one week ago), a LIVIE is an Olivia Rodrigo fan. We here at Crafting Through It will not shy away from controversial embroidery!

Black hoodie lying flat on a floral rug. The white hoodie string is tied into a bow. On the hoodie, the words “1% swiftie, 99% Livie” are embroidered in purple.

On a positive note, she also cited the recent reports that the senate phone system is getting 1600 calls per minute (40x the normal amount). This really helps boost moral for her and her cohorts - helping them stay strong in the face of so much adversity. They/we need that! Keep it up!

From my federal worker friend: her friend (also a govt worker) had their name placed on some kind of DEI "snitch" site, and now they've been getting pizzas they didn't order delivered to their house. It may sound like a prank but this is meant to send a message "I know where you live" / intimidate.

My lifelong best friend and her husband are both career federal workers. She said it’s chaos. Her husband doesn’t even know if he has a job right now. Here’s what she said we can do.

Screenshot of text that reads: “Here's what I'm telling folks who are checking in with us and asking what they should do........
Congress should be moving. They should be pushing back. That's something you can do... write your representative even if GOP. NO ONE wins with an impotent Congress that doesn't check Executive power.
These GOP folks think the ends justify the means. It doesn't. They need long vision. There WILL be a day when your precious leader is not in charge. No American should want an autocratic unchecked executive in place. Even if they are happy with dialing back the sprawl of feds through these illegal steps, that same autocratic apparatus can then be used to whatever ends are wanted by the next leader.
The arrangement itself is harmful whether they are working towards "good" or "bad" in your opinion.
So, Congress needs to step up and make it clear that Exec branch cannot do these illegal things. When Congress loses the power of the purse, the people lose. Period. And that is what's happening.”
