Someone posted in an authors group that she HAD to use chatgpt to find out where in her manuscript was a font amazon told her was unsupported. I pointed out she could do this in Word (where she formatted it) and a lot of folks are mad saying I missed the point... Who missed the point?

Scams going around trying to charge authors for features in real goodreads groups, but the person isn't actually associated with the group. Some of these groups have scam warnings pinned to the top of their groups. However suspicious you think you need to be, 10x that!

Since I've heard from several Kensington authors who got emails from the Anthropic settlement administrator re: Kensington claiming 100% of the payout on their books, I contacted CEO Steven Zacharius. He responded that Anthropic is aware of this issue & per Kensington's counsel, is correcting it.

At this point, if an agent or editor emails you out of the blue, you have to assume it's a scam and investigate. Tell your friends who are not very online; they're the ones who are most likely to miss all these scam alerts.
