hahahahahahahahahahahahaha i just saw a fb ad for a company who will design your fliers using ai for you (for a fee of course) since it takes so long and you have to "fight with chatgpt" to get what you want hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Haha I've never seen a connecting flight there. Usually it's Atlanta or dfw

On my way to LGA to go home! Thanks NYC for an incredible time!

Weird, no, I havent blocked anyone for months

010

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Considering they blocked me theyre obviously really wanting to have a good conversation about this /s

110

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

This person must have replied and blocked me. What does theor post say?

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Amazon told her the name of the unsuported font

000

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

She thought she had to manually search line by line for some reason

260

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Nope. Amazon tells you what font is in your doc that it doesnt support. You can find where it is in word

130

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Yes, it's in the advanced functions. Has been for a long time

110

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Someone posted in an authors group that she HAD to use chatgpt to find out where in her manuscript was a font amazon told her was unsupported. I pointed out she could do this in Word (where she formatted it) and a lot of folks are mad saying I missed the point... Who missed the point?

At a con, @kellyekell.bsky.social once asked me if i get annoyed when events are badly executed. I said "I'm on my 4th glass of wine"

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Do you want: -to start on time? -to have presenter's tech sorted before going live? -not want your event interrupted by attendants' children screaming? -have people not be in the waiting room for 5+ minutes after it starts? Hire me!

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

For no reason whatsoever (definitely not two badly-run virtual events in a week), a reminder that I am a professional virtual event producer and am available to freelance for your webinars and other virtual events!

I have my dms turned on and the amount of spam, scams, and even hate speech i get is unreal. Plus authors can't do too much except make a post the folks most likely to be taken in won't even see.

110

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Scams going around trying to charge authors for features in real goodreads groups, but the person isn't actually associated with the group. Some of these groups have scam warnings pinned to the top of their groups. However suspicious you think you need to be, 10x that!

Not wasting my time is the most polite thing you can do!

I'm begging you not to use AI to write your emails. Brevity is so important when communicating. I don't need 5-7 sentences of nonsensical pandering before you answer the very simple question I asked.

The Chicago Cubs (yes the baseball team) produced a 17-episode romance vertical movie and it's now on tiktok.

This doesnt mean the book would be considered published but i would exercise extreme caution with any contest that requires you to share more than a page or 2 publicly...

Querying a book that is currently or previously published is not a hard no for me. However, lying about it is...

Since I've heard from several Kensington authors who got emails from the Anthropic settlement administrator re: Kensington claiming 100% of the payout on their books, I contacted CEO Steven Zacharius. He responded that Anthropic is aware of this issue & per Kensington's counsel, is correcting it.

I forgot I posted this for a second and thought this was about my cheesecake post

Sarah Nicolas @sarahnfisk.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

My hottest of takes is this: restaurants stop saying you have Basque cheesecake when what you've done is torched a sprinkle of sugar on top of a no bake cheesecake. I'm so effing done with this
