It's just accepted as normal that the UK hates trans people and that's ok. It doesn't even register as something to be concerned about when most cis people are talking about the state of the country. Tired.

It is incredibly telling, to me at least, how Cameron and May were more progressive on trans rights, and yet even those areas of recognition are being rolled back/completely destroyed by Labour, yet trans and non-binary individuals are ignored, talked over, and told to shut up and support Labour.

Huh, would you look at that, a trans healthcare story based on made up numbers, we've definitely never seen that before
Claire Prosho, a Trans+ healthcare researcher who worked on the Gender Clinic Files investigative series with QueerAF and What The Trans?!, raised question marks about the claim of higher rates of surgical referral in Wales in a letter she sent on August 29 to Mabon ap Gwynfor, the Welsh minister for health and social care.

"I highlighted how, using accurate data gathered for the UK Gender Services Monitor, coupled with other data gathered by Freedom of Information Act requests, the surgical referral rate for the Welsh Gender Service was actually lower than that in England," Prosho tells QueerAF. "And far below the '3x - 4x national referral rate' claimed by Nick Wallis and the right-wing media."

You have to love the Quakers; they’ve stood by the trans community for many years. Their main spaces are inclusive, with some minimal, legally compliant, outlying provision for bigots somewhere else. And you’re going to see this more and more from SPs. Hey, GCs, you got exactly what you asked for.
These include respecting the dignity and lived experience of every person, ensuring compliance with the Equality Act, protecting disabled people's access to accessible facilities, and maintaining robust approaches to tackling harassment or discrimination.
The policy also states that Quakers will not require trans, non-binary or intersex people to disclose or prove their status in circumstances where such evidence is not demanded of others.
Under the arrangements confirmed by trustees, toilet facilities labelled with a 'female' sign remain available to cisgender women, trans women, and others for whom those facilities best align with their lived experience.
Similarly, facilities labelled with a 'male' sign remain available to cisgender men, trans men, and others for whom those facilities best align with
neveo experence
Self-contained single sex facilities, available to all users, are also available across the estate for anyone who is not comfortable in a trans-inclusive segregated space.

TACC, @translucent.org.uk, @transsafety.network, and @transexilenetwork.bsky.social have written to Amnesty International UK over the withdrawal of its reports on the UK’s anti-rights movement and its subsequent apology to gender-critical organisations.
Dear Amnesty International UK,
We are writing to convey our deep concern about your recent decision to withdraw the reports “A growing
threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK” and “Like a Snowball”, and your subsequent apology,
published 31st July 2026, to gender-critical and other anti-trans organisations.
We understand you have already received significant backlash, so we want to assure you that we are
writing in good faith and in a spirit of constructive engagement. As a trans-led advocacy group in the UK,
we are aware of the intense pressure you are under.
Given the near media monopoly enjoyed by gender critical organisations, we can understand the need you
felt to act swiftly and decisively. Unfortunately, we believe you’ll now find yourselves in an even more
difficult position. Gender critical organisations are already indicating that they don’t consider your
retractions and apology adequate. At the same time, a large portion of the LGBTQ+ community in the UK
has lost confidence in one of the few internationally-respected, human rights organisations.
The trans+ community, and our allies, have immense respect for Amnesty, as renowned advocates for
human rights around the world. Indeed, your website’s front page states in bold type "We fight for
people’s human rights everywhere". You have made, and continue to make, a positive difference to
countless lives.
As your reports clearly pointed out, there is presently a highly organised and well-funded attack on
LGBTQ+ rights happening across the globe, with a strong focus currently on trans+ rights.
Even within the wider global perspective, the UK stands out as having one of the worst rollbacks of LGBTQ+
rights in modern history outside of Russia and America. Trans+ people are now fleeing the country, some
leaving behind their friends and families.
What is most worrying in all of this is the complete withdrawal of both reports, with no indication of when,
or if, “Like a Snowball” will be updated and reissued....The corpus analysis in Snowball was undertaken by
Dr Fraser Heritage, a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at Manchester Metropolitan University, and it appears
to be a high-quality piece of linguistic research.
When "Like A Snowball" was published, it was a beacon of light, flickering amidst the darkness of an almost
total capture of the media and the established UK human rights by the gender critical ideological
movement. Following up with "A Growing Threat" felt brave, and it clearly rattled many gender critical organisations.
We can understand why both were withdrawn if deemed not robust enough to defend against legal
challenge; however, the withdrawal without the possibility of a corrected reissue is, in our opinion, a step
too far.
To follow that with what seems like a forced apology, framed in gender critical terms, looks like
capitulation. It leaves our marginalised community feeling even more abandoned and isolated in the face
of relentless attacks on our rights, our healthcare, even our very existence.
The simple fact of producing these reports in the first place is a clear indicator of your organisation being
convinced there are serious human rights issues to address. If Amnesty doesn’t look to republish, then the
silence grows louder, and trans+ rights are further diminished.
We would like to request an urgent Google meeting with your CEO, Kerry Moscogiuri. A meeting where we
would discuss where this leaves Amnesty International UK in terms of defending LGBTQ+ rights in the
present UK wide hostile environment.
Your faithfully,

We Will Continue to Fight
Today should never have been the day that transgender people were forced to defend their right to live safely and equally. Their right to exist. Yet with the EHRC's Code of Practice now in force, that is the reality we face.

We refuse to accept a future in which our rights are dismantled piece by piece while those responsible insist that nothing fundamental has changed. Our rights are not a political bargaining chip. Our lives are not up for debate. Our existence is not something that can be negotiated away.
1/3We Will Continue to Fight
At TACC, we will continue to challenge discrimination wherever it appears. We will continue to demand accountability from every institution that fails in its duty to uphold equality. We will continue to stand alongside transgender people, their families and our allies, because no one should be left to face this alone.

Equality was never supposed to be something that needed defending, but history has shown that rights survive only because ordinary people refuse to surrender them. We intend to be those people.
2/3We Will Continue to Fight

Trans people have always existed. We always will. We will not be silenced. We will not be erased. We will continue to speak. We will continue to organise. We will continue to fight until human rights once again mean exactly what they are supposed to mean: rights for everyone. Trans Advocacy and Complaints Collective (TACC)
