Can’t wait to read this! When I was job seeking as a postdoc, someone at Psychonomics tried giving me job advice. After listening to what I do, he said I wasn’t getting job offers because I’m not really a cognitive psychologist. He suggested I apply to social psyc jobs instead.

I’m scheduled to sit on an NIH panel in Feb. I just received an email from the study section chair confirming that Feb meetings are all still scheduled and we should continue completing our reviews. Bad luck for me that my own grant was due to be reviewed 1/31.

December 1st—time to finish submitting a million reference letters. While I’d never write a one-liner calling a student "adequate," it’s tough to say more when you barely know them. Thankfully had much more to say for mine this year. Wishing all applicants the best of luck! #academicsky #psyscisky

When the temperature low for the day gets below 50, Dude goes into a ridiculous hibernation mode. He likely won’t be parted from this blanket until spring.
Four photos of a dog named Dude cuddled in a green dog bed and wrapped up in a red blanket. In one pic, only the end of his nose is visible. In another he is sprawled on his back with his feet in the air.

Letter to tooth fairy that reads: “Tooth fairy will you Please tell me what you use the Teeth for? Please? anser yes or no in the boxes then tell me what you use the Teeth For on the line”. Under this reads: “anser” with the options yes and no.

The DC Zoo has three giant pandas, who will all be returned to China by December 7. I was happy to see them this past weekend, but it’s hard to imagine the DC Zoo without pandas! I will need to visit the Atlanta pandas before they leave in early 2024. Could be my last time seeing pandas??
