** MINOR RECESSES SPOILERS ** For anyone who's played the game, what battle did you find the most difficult? Lots of people say Clair, but I'm interested if there are any others that people struggled with. Only about 3 playtesters finished the game, so I didn't have a lot of data to balance with 😆

This is maybe a weird hot take but: more game devs, especially for online games, need to be able to tell their players to fuck off and just play the game as the devs intended. Like, so many balance changes and adjustments to gameplay for supposed "quality of life" changes I keep seeing in games...

To be fair I haven't played a AAA game in over a decade, but indie games have some baller music. Void Stranger, Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, and of course Stardew/Undertale, plus many others. I think it's because they're actually willing to take risks that they stick out/stick in the brain.

Making opponents play competently. Even with just 100 cards, there are niche scenarios where the "obvious" play a human would make would require 100s of lines of code. So sometimes when the computer makes a weird play, I just call it a feature: they play like humans and can make mistakes too! 🙂

Ohhh mann, and I always felt like I had to clear out the full field on the night of Day One too, since there was no time limit, the hot springs replenished stamina, and I didn't want to "waste" other days. The tedium was through the roof, but the satisfaction of getting it all done was... okay lol.

I struggled with how long to make the demo of my game, but then I thought... why not just make the *entire* main game into the demo? Probably not the best business decision, but I'm glad it's helped a lot more people play it 🥰

making RPGs may seem really difficult, but don't give up. taking a game from an idea to a finished product can involve so many hours writing, editing, testing, learning new skills, iterating on your work over and over again... but never lose sight of the big payoff: your game might just net you $300

For some reason I was SO exited for this game as a kid and bought it on release day Even with all the pure, boundless enthusiasm only present inside of an excited 5th grader with nothing better to do than play video games all day... I think I only gave this one 2-3 days before giving up lol
