Native to the Australian mainland and Tasmania, the Tawny Frogmouth’s main defense is to freeze and blend into tree bark, relying on their disguise rather than fighting. They are closely related to nightjars and potoos. 🤭 IG: @ivan.carter

Not sure people understand how bad El Niño already is. In Southern California today, we had an offshore pacific hurricane (not normal) take out homes and beaches. We had temperatures topping 111°F with high humidity. There's a fire in LA. And we are just getting started with El Niño.

Climate is a pattern, and the pattern has changed. = Climate Change
Graphic reading, “The difference between ‘There used to be hot summers too.’ and climate crisis.” Below is a temperature-anomaly chart showing mostly blue, cooler-than-average years in the earlier record, shifting dramatically toward sustained red, warmer-than-average years in recent decades. Occasional earlier red bars are labelled “These were hot summers,” while the sustained cluster of increasingly warm recent years is labelled “This is climate change.”
