$Thinking of all the families, friends, colleagues and loved ones who have been grieving for 25 years today (and always). A brief story…after 9/11, my Dad, as part of his job, would go into the city and do crisis counseling for survivors around Ground Zero. The 25th anniversary of 9/11 will be the first I face without my Dad. I could always sense a heaviness and weariness after those days in lower Manhattan, but he was honored to be able to bring any fraction of comfort those who were suffering. And, as a kid whose classroom looked at the NYC skyline, had seen the blackest smoke ever that Tuesday a quarter century ago, and who spent an inordinate amount of time watching that Ground Zero cam wishing I could do more, I was (and am still) so proud of him. And as sundown tonight is also the start of the Jewish New Year, it just feels like a reminder to aim to be like the best of us not the worst. Hug your people. Say that extra “I love you”. Do NOT let the bad voices be the loudest. Shana Tova & Never Forget.
