Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics" guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

i know it's just advertisement but it still pisses me off when tech CEOs claim AGI will solve humanity's problems with its vast intelligence. for a lot of problems we already know the solutions, what prevents them being solved is not a lack of intelligence, but that the solutions are unprofitable

They could simplify this with a subscription model WITH fallback licence* Simply put, if you buy an annual sub (or any number of months they decide), you get a perpetual licence for the version existing when you subscribed. (Tbf, it's a model that is useful when there are many updates per year)
