My postpartum feet really hurt and none of my shoes fit. But before I run out to buy new shoes, I’m seeing a podiatrist and getting orthotics made. This is growth! This is being in my late 30s!

I would love to have the privilege to show up to a job interview with or without an iced coffee, but I’m finding it very difficult to even land an interview. With two advanced degrees and 15 years of experience in the culture sector.

I think the "debate" about bringing iced coffee to job interviews is effective at distracting people from the really bad job market, the high unemployment rate for Black women, ongoing mass layoffs in tech and media, and how Gen Z workers are refusing to adopt many toxic aspects of corp work culture

The first museum label I ever wrote was for “Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors” at The Hirshhorn. Getting to work on this exhibition changed the trajectory of my life. Thank you Kusama, for the wonder, the opportunity, the chance to self reflect, and the polka dots.

It absolutely blows my mind that I can listen to an audiobook via Libby on my refurbished iPod Touch. Feels like the peak of tech. It connects to the internet, isn’t a phone, and the screen is so small that I don’t want to use it as a normal screen. It’s also the size of a pack of gum.

I went to Vaca Creamery last week, and no disrespect, but they charged $1 to add sprinkles and barely put any sprinkles on the soft serve. Rather than getting mad, I started carrying a jar of sprinkles in my purse. Added them to a restaurant sundae tonight, and it was perfect.

What radicalized you?? Me? It was seeing “Titanic” at the ripe age of 9 and getting an early introduction to class consciousness (with a side of gender stuff too, women and children first). Also, learning about the hubris of man vs nature before I had the vocabulary for it.

You know how everyone has flipped their lid to get a Trader Joe’s canvas bag—especially abroad? My version of that is the La Fermière whole milk yogurt pot. I really want to try the yogurt and I really want to reuse the pots!

The Italian restaurant by my old place gIves you a little bowl of dark chocolate covered maraschino cherries nestled into whipped cream when they bring you the check. And I think that’s one of the loveliest things. old school, elegant, simple.
