They started on illegal immigrants, expanded it to legal immigrants, now are going after naturalized citizens. If you are not one of those groups, you are just somewhere further down the chain, but they will get to eliminating your rights eventually too.

I'm dying laughing at how the cat has conformed to her flower shaped bed today
A white cat is sleeping curled up in a med that has five fluffy white lobes of a flower petal, the cat has half her face peeking upwards and otherwise has filled the pentagonal space in the center of the bed completely

Just found out Kusatsu-Shirane reopened again for the first time in 8 years! Last time they closed it just before my trip. Spent today figuring out if it's possible to hike up there since I'll be coming in the winter season when the road is closed. Another thing that has to fit into this trip!

Unfortunately, I lived in Gunma previously and when I go back I know I'll need a car. And the agencies I rent from there do not provide ETC cards so it definitely leaves you in a pickle if you can't even pay by cash anymore. I'll likely just drive the extra hours and distance around tollways.

You'd have to stop at a manned gate, talk to someone (language barrier), and give them your address so they can mail you the bill. That's so far behind the US system.

Glad to see the toll system in Japan has only become even more of a mess. ETC cards for automated tolls are still impossible for tourists to get (unless you rent a car through a few specific agencies). And now they're phasing out the manual pay cash toll gates so you can't even use them at all!

The writing feels very true to me, I guess I always found the writing to be awkward in the earlier episodes 😆 I was blown away by the music tho, and I really love the character interactions so far. A good fit for my mentor/student interests 😂

If you have ever read a book to a baby, you will realize it's not a linear experience. The baby wants to turn pages backward, wants to ask questions (if they're old enough), wants to examine the pages and get really excited if they can say "bear!" even if the word "bear!" is not on the page.

I get this! I'm socially anxious and I've hit the button one stop early several times before. I always just get off because I feel bad that the whole bus stopped and feel it would be weird and embarrassing if no one gets out. Once I had to completely change the starting point of my hike 😭

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.
