I’d like to inject some nuance into the data center discussion: I’m not against data centers, but I am against unregulated data center expansion due to AI driven hype. We shouldn’t be recklessly expanding our digital capacity as a nation when it’s at the expense of our most marginalized people.

I just bought the framework desktop solely for local llm inference and I'm so excited to have something that can run larger models 100% privately. I've learned a lot playing with my Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano for the past few weeks, but I've already hit the limits for my use case with it.

I think ai assisted coding is the future. I don’t think your average vibe coder is indicative of how software engineering will transform. Vibe coding is a great way to manifest an idea into reality as quickly as possible, but engineering goes way beyond the user interface.

I tend to try new (to me) linux distros from time to time. I’ve landed back on good ol’ Debian with vanilla Gnome desktop and I wonder why I ever bother trying anything else. It’s always there for me when I get tired of trying new things and need to get work done.
