It’s been 9 years since white supremacists descended on Charlottesville, VA — bringing deadly hate and violence and serving as a preview of the increasingly-normalized extremism that’s followed. I led the organization that sued those Nazis and won. Here’s what we learned. 🧵A thread. 1/

It’s not your imagination: American politics, including in Pennsylvania, has become more aggressive and, sadly, violent. From 2024 to 2025, the number of violent threats against members of Congr

Patriot Front is an offshoot of one of the white supremacist groups we (successfully) sued for orchestrating the Charlottesville violence. They are emboldened because their extremism has been wholly normalized by the administration and others.

You may be inclined to amplify Joe Kent right now because of concerns over the Iran war. Don’t. He’s an extremist with deep ties to Nazi sympathizers and Holocaust deniers who never should have been in this role in the first place (sadly one of many in this administration). 1/

ICE just shot another one of my neighbors. They had the person on the ground, being beaten by several agents, and then fired multiple shots. In front of the donut shop where we like to get donuts for our kids.

It is kind of wild that no big media outlet has busted open the story of who is making DHS' posts on X. Whoever that may be is certainly plugged into hardcore white supremacist internet propaganda with a harder edge. "Groyper" would be underselling it. This is Daily Stormer-tier sludge.

What happened today is awful. People who fight against gun violence, people who loathe what Charlie Kirk stood for, must also condemn political violence. It’s a vicious cycle. This is a very dangerous moment.

Make no mistake: antisemitic hate inevitably leads to antisemitic violence. Anyone who claims to believe in the dignity & rights of all people has an obligation to name this shooting for what it is — vile & violent antisemitic terror — and to speak out against this increasingly-normalized bigotry.
