Decided to give my Neovim config a bit of an uplift using vim.pack, I’m blown away by how fast it is. New configs for LSPs and Treesitter, removed some plugins like FixCursorHold. 1.6k lines removed and 600 lines added in total. 32 plugins and load times well below 100ms. Very happy with it!

Introducing Anti Slop 🚫 A GitHub action that detects and automatically closes low-quality and AI slop PRs. As one of the maintainers of Coolify (50K+ stars) we deal with slop PRs daily so I decided to fix it. Early testing showed this action could have closed 98% of slop PRs.

Laravel's Scheduler running without cron! It works very similarly to Spatie's package, but uses Revolt instead of ReactPHP and doesn't call schedule:run under the hood. This was a very fun experiment and I'm probably going to release it as a package.

A PHP class method called run, it accepts a floating-point value called tickRate and runs in an infinite loop. The method checks on an interval if there are schedule jobs to run and if so, pushes it onto the event loop queue.

When the user presses control + c, the loop terminates.

Split terminal output from Laravel's Scheduler. The top half shows the output from the scheduler itself, depicting the time, what command is being run, how long it took and whether it was successful.

The bottom half runs Laravel Pail, showing test logging output to confirm the command has actually run.

Started looking at Laravel Verbs. I find it to be very similar and not similar to actions at the same time. Not sure if I understand it but it’s really cool!

A PHP class with strict types turned on, it’s a webhook controller that accepts a request from Fail2Ban for a ban, unban or prolong ban action. A Laravel Verbs event is fired depending on the action received.

Setting up a Tangled knot is super easy with Docker and Coolify! I was able to create a repo on it too. I did learn today that running 2 Git servers side-by-side while only relying on SSHD is a pain in the ass 😅 I won't be using Tangled anytime soon though, it was a cool experiment though!
