That would be a whole other level of dubious. The amount of feature that are pay gates in AppFlowy’s self-hosted version is a bit… why? I understand they’d still want to make money from their open source stuff, but a neutered version isn’t the way. They should look at Coolify and take notes tbh.

Decided to give my Neovim config a bit of an uplift using vim.pack, I’m blown away by how fast it is. New configs for LSPs and Treesitter, removed some plugins like FixCursorHold. 1.6k lines removed and 600 lines added in total. 32 plugins and load times well below 100ms. Very happy with it!

What I’d do here is have 2 servers running side by side, set up the site on the Hetzner side and get everything ready there. Then put your DNS on the lowest TTL you can and wait it out, then go maintenance mode, migrate the database and move over your DNS records.

Relatively. On a larger project it took 2 days to upgrade due to Carbon 2 -> 3 and PHPUnit deprecations. But was otherwise very easy. On a smaller project on mine it took 10 minutes.

I feel you, I updated a huge project to Laravel 12 about 6 weeks ago. Did you use Shift for your upgrade? Though reading some posts around, it looks like the Laravel 13 upgrade will be super painless. 🤞🏻

If I were to restart today, I would want to go the systems programming route learning Zig, Rust and/or C, or go DevOps. Realistically I’d go full backend and learn C#, Python and Go due to market demand.
