Laravel devs, have you ever added something like this? Optional Sanctum auth where the bearer token is used when present, but guests are still allowed through. Curious how you handle this in your projects.

I keep forgetting how much Pest includes. Pest is seriously batteries included. [see comments]

Laravel AI SDK v1 added `decide()` to Stringable. You can ask a string a yes/no question, define your criteria, and even set a confidence threshold. Very Laravel. 👀

AI can build more software than ever. But I’m starting to think the harder part is knowing what’s actually worth building. Does AI make that easier too?

Found a Laravel package that asks a slightly scary question: “What changed on my production server?” Laravel Scalpel can scan for rogue PHP files, obfuscated code, modified server rules and unexpected filesystem changes. 🔪

Just drafted PR using ChatGPT 👀 Yes ChatGPT not Codex. Now you can just use ChatGPT to work on your projects. And yeah it does not consume codex limits. 😉

I was looking at Laravel's recent first-party projects and realized there are quite a few pieces aimed at working with AI now. So I went through them. Here are 6 worth knowing about 🧵

Vibe coding is nice when you don't have Exact clear defination of your project or specific design taste. It's not that easy to make AI build what exactly you have in your mind 👀

PHP 8.6 lets you partially apply functions with `?`. No need to write the closure yourself. This is a surprisingly nice little addition.

AI coding agents don't need prettier terminal output. They need less noise. Laravel PAO gives agents compact, structured output from tools like Pest, PHPStan and Artisan while keeping the normal developer output unchanged. 🤖

AI coding agents are often better at extending a codebase than inventing how it should work. Before asking it to build something, I like asking: > Find the existing code that's most similar to this. The codebase usually has better instructions than we do.

Laravel apps can be MCP servers too. 👀 With Laravel MCP, you can expose your app's tools, resources and prompts to AI clients. So your Laravel app isn't just something the agent reads. It can become something the agent can actually use.

AI can write your PR description now. Laravel's team argues you probably shouldn't let it. I actually like this idea. Writing the PR description forces you to explain what changed, why it changed, and what reviewers should care about.

The best part of Laravel Boost isn't AI writing your code. It's giving the agent Laravel-specific context and tools. 👀 It can inspect your routes, schema, logs, Artisan commands and tests before changing your app. The agent doesn't just know Laravel. It can see your Laravel app.

Punyapal Shah @mrpunyapal.dev · 14/09/2026
Laravel Boost can add skills to your AI coding agent. You can install all the skills from a repo, or pick just one. That’s a pretty nice way to give an agent project-specific knowledge without turning your prompt into a giant wall of instructions. 👀

The better AI coding agents get, the more I appreciate opinionated frameworks. Fewer decisions for me means fewer decisions for the agent to make.

Did you know Laravel's remember_token can be useful beyond "Remember Me"? 👀 For multi-account switching, derive a hash from the user ID + token and verify it before switching. Change the token, and that saved account automatically becomes invalid.

Laravel 13.30 adds a handy Collection method 👀 Ever used chunkWhile() just to group consecutive items with the same value? chunkBy() makes that much simpler. And unlike groupBy(), it keeps separate chunks when the same value appears again later. Have you used this pattern before

🗓️ Laravel devs, carbon is mutable by default, and that can cause subtle bugs. Laravel already gives you a safer path: make dates immutable globally and use the Date facade instead of Carbon. ✨ now() / today() respect it 🛠️ Rector can automate the refactor Safer dates. Better defaults.

Author vs Maintainer An author creates a package. A maintainer takes responsibility for it. The interesting part is when you realize maintaining a package is a completely different job from creating one.

While explaining harness in AI I found good real world example of it. Think of a sports car: -Seat belts: AI Guardrails, keeps it aligned - Handbrakes: Kill Switches, manual control - Airbags: Fail-safes, blocks bad outputs instantly We don't build brakes to slow down, but to drive fast safely. 💪

Laravel devs, this Collection feature is easy to overlook. 👀 Higher-order messages let you replace simple callbacks with expressive syntax across many Collection methods. Once you spot the pattern, your Collection code gets a lot cleaner.
