Best exhibit I’ve seen lately: Christopher Payne's large format photography show at the Cooper Hewitt. Favorite photo: Leon Kalajian with a sunray pleating board, Tom's Sons International Pleating (NYC). Love the detail and the naming of the worker: an antidote to bad corporate stock photos.
Pleated fabrics are made by pressing them between carefully folded and scored paper molds. Leon was in the pleating business for over 70 years before passing away in 2023.

It's a healthcare economy, and the rest of us are just living in it.

Only if they are a true operational partner with deep sector knowledge. Unless the chief of staff increases the agency of experts on the leader’s team, it’s another layer and the business will not benefit. Without leadership access, most folks I know will not consider roles in this structure.
