I've just realised that I've been painting the company badge on my Intercessors' right knee pads instead of their left. Because the Armageddon book says it's right... for Blood Angels. Neglecting to mention everyone else seems to use the left. Am I enough of a nerd to fret about this? Yes.

Managed it with a bit of trial and error. Had to turn Cloud Saving on, then save a new game, then turn Cloud saving off, delete that game, then put my backed up saves straight onto the hard drive. Ready to get my ass stabbed beneath Curst!

Started a new game so I could save and find out where it's sending save data now. Turns out it's just dumping them, unsorted, un-foldered onto the hard drive. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

So, I managed to fix this. And then the game got a massive update for the first time in years. Which deleted all my save data for real this time. Do not buy Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition.

I remember being told that the opening of Haunting of Hill House is the best of any book. And... fuck... I really don't think I can remember any that top it.

No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood so for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met nearly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.

Even in the midst of a "face a manifestation of your fear" trope, which I love, my brain was stuck on: "Is it just a Nebraska thing? That's why some (all?) the hats had big Ns on them? N for Nebraska? Wait, the blue one said Navy. Is it a military thing? Are they just describing the colour?"

There was lots to like in the latest Lanterns. But through most of it I was asking questions like: The fuck is a hat ceremony? Is this some wizard school bullshit? Is a hat ceremony one of those things that sounds fake but turns out Americans really do it, like frats and the pledge of allegiance?
