The big reveal of who the baddie is turns out to be... the one character who hasn't contributed to the plot yet. Big Finish don't have the cast size to pull these twists off. 011

But one thing I love about Chimes of Midnight is that it feels like one that works best on audio. Translating it to another medium would make it less effective. I say without reading the novel. 121

On audio McGann's sardonic performance perfectly mocks the plot's aristocratic obsession with class, but on the page 8 comes across as bland as he did in the BBC books range. 011

She plays the contrast brilliantly between the younger Edith, full of innocent joy, and the older Edith who sounds like someone utterly broken. Of course the great script helps too 021
