When we moved house, I let rip with a nasty silent fart whilst fitting the (electric) oven. My wife, convinced I'd damaged a gas pipe, called an engineer who charged an emergency rate. Could've admitted it, but not after the family stood in the garden to prevent 'gas poisoning'.
