A big problem the West has is understanding evil only through the Nazis. But the genocide of native Americans, the slave trade, European colonialism, all unimaginably evil. American colonists raided native villages to slaughter and scalp people, just so they could steal their land to make money.

ICE has been holding a disabled double amputee named Rodney Taylor in a camp for a year. He’s been in the US since he was two years old. It’s all he knows. When they detained him, they denied him access to new prosthetic legs. His health is declining.

We are increasingly being encouraged to integrate generative AI into research and teaching. Individuals use it for writing, planning and teaching; universities are experimenting with embedding it into curricula. However, my case reveals a fundamental weakness: these tools were not developed with academic standards of reliability and accountability in mind.

The US has the highest maternal mortality of any developed country … and it’s about to get a lot worse. Why? Pregnant women are afraid to go to the hospital for care. They’re labouring at home alone because ICE will grab them as soon as they give birth. This is dystopian.

A citizen of Navajo Nation was detained by ICE in Phoenix. Peter Yazzie was reportedly carrying a tribal ID, but was still violently arrested. An officer put a knee on Yazzie’s back, which can be lethal because it can cut off a person’s breathing. www.azcentral.com/story/news/p...
