WHO ARE YOUR GO-TO WRITING PROMPT ACCOUNTS? I'm working on putting together a refined feed with JUST PROMPTS (that excludes prompt responses) for writers to keep them from getting stuck scrolling when they want to share. Strongly preferred are ones that use a consistent tag so I can filter properly.

Struggling to get through a specific scene in Secrets of Ink and Enchantment, and I don't like jumping ahead when I write, so for now I've been writing a bunch of fanfiction. Hopefully when I get back to the chapter that's stumped me (soon), I'll be ready to finish it! 🤞

My husband and I do cosplay print commissions on the side to help pay bills (this kind of thing is most of what I've been doing lately, home repairs are expensive), so if you're interested, message me! I couldn't feel good about asking for donations, but I can shill our services without feeling bad.

For Asher, Timothee Chalamet. The angular features are perfect for my general vision of the character's appearance. For Clara, probably a young Amy Adams. I love her, and can't think of another natural ginger actress that would fit (I don't know a ton of actors, so that's a bit of a blind spot)

Clara and Asher are going for a date in the arcanist marketplace on All Hallows' Eve. Yes, Clara is still a fugitive, but if I don't do it then, then I won't have a chance to showcase any of the arcane cultures of the world. She'll be magically hidden and she can disappear into the crowd if needed.

IT'S HAPPENING Y'ALL 🥳 I'm so excited to officially announce that my first book, THE GODS OF ATALANTIS, will be available to buy in digital formats on April 30, 2026! Part 1 of a trilogy about 2 kids chosen as the avatars of the gods, who fall in love while their island speeds toward doom 🌊☀️❤️🏝️💥
Cover of THE GODS OF ATALANTIS, designed by me. The bottom half shows a girl with long flowing hair sleeping in a fetal position, wrapped up in flowing cloths; she is painted in shades of light to dark blue, and her flowing hair and cloths are reminiscent of ocean waves. At the top, upside down, a boy with curly hair and a tattoo on his arm is also sleeping in a fetal position, wrapped up in cloths; he is painted in golds and reds, like the sun. The two of them mirror each other almost like yin & yang, with the title written between them in shining reddish-gold letters. A reddish-gold border frames the cover, and each corner features a small symbol: a marigold flower, a phoenix, an orange & blue striped fish, and a wolf. Along the left and right sides of the border, pale bluish-white crystals are growing. Along the bottom the author's name EMILY KLOTZ is written in the same reddish-gold letters.

I swear I'm not dead! 2026 has been 3 long years so far, but things are finally almost back on track. To start with, we have some stylized art of our MC Clara! My husband will probably be making more for scene TikToks later, but art of Asher is the next priority.

Clara is completely out of her depth. She has to go from thinking magic is a fairy tale to being a competent arcane duelist as quickly as humanly possible. She is very bright and a fast learner, but even with those strengths it's still a herculean task when she's a fugitive racing against the clock.

Clara never insults people. She just can't bring herself to be mean, even when someone deserves it. The most you'll get out of her is a teasing remark. Asher cannot lie, so he avoids it at all costs. He's gotten very good with selective truths, but if he has to tell a COMPLETE lie, it's obvious.

This is an interesting one... Clara as an antagonist would be pretty terrifying, considering that she would become everything that the current antagonists fear she might be. Her goal would be to kill every member of the Arcane Dominion that held power. Scorched earth, salted fields. Anarchy.

I'm having my husband draw Clara (my main character) and Asher (love interest) just so I have visuals to share. While it doesn't match the era or tone perfectly, I'm a lot happier with his art style than he is so I'm excited to share it! (An OC of ours for an example, shared with his permission)

I struggle to write characters without a final name, but I ended up needing to try this time. Asher Thorne's name came immediately, and I feel like his name helps you picture his appearance fairly well. With Clara, the MC, it was harder to find a name that matched the character I had in mind.

Asher is a long-time tea enjoyer, and has converted Clara to his side of the debate. On a day like today (8 degrees Fahrenheit... and cloudy) Asher would be brewing a large pot of chai tea.

I'm so used to writing a larger ensemble of characters that it's throwing me off to have such an isolated duo in my book. It's unavoidable given the main character is a fugitive and the love interest is hiding her, but it is one aspect that makes me look forward to other stories.

A snippet from Chapter 1 again for #WIPSnips, for "manager" (subbing in employer). #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts #WriteSky #AmWriting
She caught up just before Mr. Thorne arrived at the door, and hid herself behind a bookshelf about fifteen feet from the room before peeking around the corner.
When he arrived at the door, he reached into his sleeve. Then, suddenly, he began looking around him, as if worried about an ambush. Clara ducked back behind the shelf, fearful that she had been discovered. Instead, after a moment, she heard the door click and swing open. She tried to poke her head back around to see what was inside. Before he swung the door shut, she saw… Another door on the back wall of the storeroom. Nothing else was visible from where she stood.
Disappointed by the lackluster reveal, but feeling a bit childish for trying to spy on her employer to begin with, she returned to the front counter. Of course, it really wasn't any of her business what was special about the room or its contents. That being said, the paranoid way Mr. Thorne looked around in his own domain before entering the storeroom nagged at her mind. Either there was something specific he was trying to keep a secret, or there was someone he was worried might attack him over what he had contained there… Either way, she knew the mystery of the room would be at the back of her mind whenever she saw it.

"The Fruit of War: Stone and Flesh" is the first book in an epic fantasy series steeped in gothic themes. It follows Fîeron, an undertaker-psychopomp in a world recovering from an unprecedented war, as he is forced to flee one burden for one far greater -- and darker. #BluePit📖 #OS #A #fruitofwar
A dark green banner split in half by a subtle gold border. The left half features a book cover with white text that reads “The Fruit of War, Book 1: Stone and Flesh”, by Tamara S Harker. It shows a man’s hand holding a purple-red fruit cut open to reveal a small skull. In the background is a shadowed orchard with fallen soldiers lying on the ground.

The right half of the image describes the book, including a tagline of "Nothing truly dies -- it merely changes." and a launch date of 1st March 2026, both in red text. A donut-shaped pie chart lists its genres as 70% epic fantasy, 20% dark fantasy, and 10% gothic horror. The blurb of the book, in pale green text, reads: "A weary young undertaker is tasked by a dead hero to find an artifact that began – and ended – a recent war. In doing so, he gathers an eclectic group of veterans and greenhorns almost by accident. Yet finding the artifact is only the beginning, and in solving the riddle of the hero’s last request, they are only met with more questions – about the war, their alleged enemy, and the very nature of their world." Finally, green text reads: "For readers who like their fantasy intelligent...immersive...and simmering with ghosts of the past...both figurative and literal."Two quotes from a five-star Goodreads ARC review:

"...an ambitious and richly imagined fantasy..."

"...an excellent read and a superb debut. It's the kind of book that reminds you of the joys of classic fantasy, with its intricate storytelling, memorable characters, and a world that lingers in your mind long after you've turned the final page."

She was never meant to wield magic. He was never meant to protect her. Secrets of Ink and Enchantment is a 1920s slow-burn romantic fantasy w/ forbidden power, dangerous attraction, and a powerful foe that wants to crush them both. #BluePit📖 #W #A #WF #F #R #HS #WritingCommunity #AmWriting #WriteSky
An Agent's Guide to Secrets of Ink and Enchantment, by Rosalind Hawkins. Historical Fantasy Romance, ≈100k Words (Draft in progress). Background is a dark purple leather, with the outline of a raven in the bottom center.Pitch: After a strange bloom reveals magic she was never meant to have, Clara Wells, a reserved bookshop clerk in 1920s America, is thrust into a magical society that survives through secrecy, regulation, and control. Her employer-turned-mentor, Asher Thorne, has taken it upon himself to protect and teach her rather than throw her to the wolves as would be 'proper'. The guidance meant to keep her alive evolves into something far deeper and more intimate, even as the danger to both of them grows closer by the day. This novel explores how trust can become an act of rebellion in a world that treats those it can't understand as a threat to be erased.

Comparisons to A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness: Intimacy unfolds under constant risk of discovery. Love is a destabilizing force in a trauma informed system. One partner acts as a guide through an unfamiliar system.

Comparisons to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke: Magic is governed through formal institutions, controlling who may safely belong and who is othered. Othered individuals the system cannot process lead to catastrophe.

Context: A character-driven historical fantasy where personal relationships collide with rigid and authoritarian magical governance.

“Really though, if you could get a potion that did anything at all, what would you ask for?”

In that instant, Mr. Thorne dropped the tea cup he had been polishing. It shattered on the wooden floor in front of the desk. He cursed under his breath as he lowered himself to the floor to address the broken porcelain.

“I’d certainly take a luck potion, but Lord knows I’ll never be able to afford that,” Mr. Thorne stated, far too seriously for the topic at hand. He then looked up and met Clara’s eyes, startled. It was as if he was surprised by his own answer. He stood, setting the fragmented tea cup on the counter before straightening his hair.

“What about you, Clara? If you could make a magical elixir of any kind, what would it be?”

Clara thought about it for a moment, looking out the window. The depressing weather was starting to catch up with her.

“Well, something to give me energy and lift my spirits would be nice today.”

Mr. Thorne grinned at this response, retrieving two still intact tea cups and lifting them in front of him.

“It just so happens that I have the perfect potion for you steeping in the back.”
