Some thoughts on the CR/minibus. 1 The Dems negotiating with Rs were not freelancing. They coordinated with Sen Schumer. A few were ready to give in on day one, others worked to maximize appropriations wins. Those voting for the 'deal' are the ones furthest away from electoral consequences.

But why must it be? "Dumb, selfish people believing deliberate lies" has a deep, rich history in human affairs! It explains many, many mob behaviors of the past! One might even say that it is the explanation for *most* violent mob behaviors throughout history. It's definitely a thing that happens!

This is literally the problem: We NEED to be rude. We need emotion. These fuckers are destroying democracy & hurting people; our elected Democrats *should* be pissed. When they're not, they're essentially gaslighting the rest of us. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who has been one of the most vocal critics of his party’s approach to Trump, said in an interview that the spectacle from Democrats was “sad AF.” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said that while he understands “the emotion behind” such outbursts, they are “not my style.”

In an illustration of how sharply Democrats are split over how to take on Trump, one of the party’s rising stars, Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Florida), said his colleagues’ rowdiness on Tuesday was the point. He was among a group of Democrats who departed before the end of Trump’s speech.

“It is rude. It is disrespectful,” he said. “That was the whole point of it — to disrespect him.”
