Been to prèfecture for hubby's fingerprinting. Also our 6th wedding anniversary today - which we forgot about until SiL sent us a congratulatory text! We tend to celebrate the longer one - which will be 25yrs in Decmber!

Happy #Caturday from Teddy who has learned how to balance on, and pounce on his siblings, the bannisters this week!

A very handsome brown tabby cat is balamced on a wrought iron bannister. He has a long stripey tail and he is looking at the camera. About 10 seconds after taking this, Cleo walked past on the floor and he pounced on her!

Just ordered a load of hedging plants & some brassicas, onion and garlic sets for over winter in the potager. Would normally do the brassicas from seed, but been a bad year for getting out and starting seeds off. The garden really is coming along quite nicely now though, despite the heat & no rain 😊

Late entry for #caturday comes from Teddy. He's a big lad, and takes no nonsense - but he still needs his emotional support fluffy ball!

A handsome brown tabby cat is curled up in a midnight-blue fluffy donut bed. He has an orange fluffy ball in his mouth. (He carries them around everywhere, unless asking for them to be thrown so he can fetch like a dog!)

Cleo, a beautiful calico cat is sitting on my lap. It seems that her ginger and black markings are not as random as we thought, as this picture shows they fall in distinct stripes, like a big bumble bee!

Locksmith here. Checking it over. Says we should be able to claim on house insurance with his invoice and one for doors as less than 10 years, as we weren't able to get hold of installer (august, naturally!) which is a bit of a relief.

And, the joys of finding an artisan in August commence... Turns out locksmiths are in short supply locally, and most are carpenter/joiners, and all so far ar on ruddy congés. Earliest I've managed to find is 18th August, and he's currently in hospital poor mam!

Anyone had any experience with French locksmiths? Are they as expensive as UK ones? Our front door has decided it no longer wants to even shut ans have tried everything I know how to do, and it being august there's no way the carpenter who installed it will come out/answer my emails!

Today has been going much more to plan than yesterday! Found car place to pick up our new baby easily and dealt with the final paperwork etc. Nice little drive around, getting used to her as she's an automatic and Beastis is manual. Then for curry 😋 and now to Noz and Grand Frais.

Feeling worn down by insurance woes! Chose Direct Assurance, price good and lots of online/text options for talking to them, plus additional discount if have more than one policy. So, moved house ins and current car to them. House went fine, but both car policy attempts have hit issue after issue!!
