Grindr doesn’t routinely report surges. It reports outages and reported none. Downdetector showed a surge in reports which can be anything from outages to slowdowns & can be from locals checking out Grindr to see if maga is there to people working the conference. They also scan social media.

Grindr didn't go down in Dallas. It's not technologically possible. It uses the AWS US-East-2 server on the east coast & there is no Grindr server in Dallas. Downdetector scans social media so posts about it actually add to the spike on their maps. This is just a homophobic joke by supposed allies.

I’m ok with calling them out. Although for many of them, there is no evidence and the assumption is based on stereotypes (appearance, voice). People will say all MAGA is gay including Trump which is absurd and offensive. But the crude jokes from “progressives” about gay sexuality are also offensive.
