Another case of scientist being scooped by AI. Remember, you are not using AI, you are being used by it to give advantage to proprietary companies. If you want to use AI, at least do yourself the favor of using legally and ethically sourced programs, open sourced and auditable. They do exist.

I am gradually becoming AI positive within guardrails. 1. I use a local llm adjusted to my style, and acknowledge it. Takes 40 minutes to install. Also 2. Claude for coding, and 3. Deepseek for small Q/A. Why? Just try it.

#3 -- Reducing methane and other short-lived super-pollutants is the only safe bet. Why? Because methane alone has already warmed the planet by about 0.4˚C -- and we could get rid of that warming in about 10-20 years by zeroing out methane emissions.
