Saddened to learn of the death of my dear friend Malcolm Edwards, my first British editor, who in my opinion had no equal in the language. Not only brilliant and deeply kind, but superbly comical as well.

This popped up in Heritage's weekly auctions, a page from an unpublished adaptation of Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder". Artist(s) unidentified, but my guess is Gil Kane inked by Wayne Howard.

In 1974, fans wrote letters responding to an advertisement in a Marvel comic, threatening to stop reading Marvel if it continued. Roy Thomas raised the issue with Stan Lee, and, according to an internal office memo involving then-president Al Landau, no more ads of its like were used.

R.I.P., fellow letterer Dave Lanphear. First noticed his work when he was the on staff letterer at Crossgen. He had an elegant look & style to his work which blended well with their books. Spoke with him a few times over the phone and via email and always enjoyed talking with him. Gone way too soon.

Comics from that time have two shipping dates: one for direct sales, and another for newsstand sales (three weeks after direct sales). If some dates don't match it may be because direct and newsstand dates are mixed up in the sources you're using.
