Hey, I got my wish from yesterday and was able to use my own font on an upcoming story. ;)

Hopefully I'll get to use my font based on my actual hand lettering on a few upcoming projects soon. Here it is in action in a Wonder Woman Black and Gold story from a few years ago! Art by Leo Romero and story by Sina Grace.

Now on the turntable—Panda Bear’s Person Pitch! I didn’t realize that the records for this were 12 inch 45s so when I first started playing it I was a bit confused.

Today is National Comic Book Day! Here are just a few of the multitude of comics that I've worked on over the years! Read a comic book today!

Just finished watching Mike Hodges' Pulp from 1972 with Michael Caine as pulp writer Mickey King. It could have been great and parts of it reminded me of Robert Altman's version of The Long Goodbye, but, that said, I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars. Great poster though.

I went to John Rozum’s talk on how comics work at a local library tonight and really enjoyed it. A well thought out talk on how comics can be read and the different ways creators approach storytelling. Happy he showed a couple of Hellboy pages I lettered too!

Ah, my official Batman Bat Grenade finally showed up in the mail. Now if only I had some caps...remember caps? Nothing like giving a kid a roll of caps and some matches for minutes of fun.

A nice looking double page spread from Wolverine #88 by Adam Kubert, Mark Farmer with my hand lettering. I loved lettering Wolverine but the book was most times late and almost every month I would have to letter on vellum and the lettering pasted up in house.

Happy Batman Day! I've lettered a lot of Batman stories but the short run by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely on Batman & Robin is one that I enjoyed working on a lot! #BatmanDay

R.I.P. Gerrit Graham. I loved this guy in some great movies—The Phantom of the Paradise, Home Movies, Used Cars, Chopping Mall. He was so good!

After watching the Frank Miller doc I was reminded of the Sin City screening for comic creators in 2005 with an after party at the Union Square ballroom that I went to. It was incredible seeing every famous comic creator you could think of in one room at the after party...my head almost exploded!

It took me an awfully long time but a few years ago I finally collected all the original pressings of Big Star's output to my record collection. Not a cheap endeavor but that didn't bother me because they're one of my all-time favorite bands. ;)

And now this idiot is attempting to bribe voters. By the way, that would be over 1.3 trillion dollars! Where is this money magically coming from? I guess the same place our tariff and doge checks came from.

If you haven't picked up Tales of Wonder #1 by Steve Skroce, Ian Herring and me yet then what are you waiting for? You're missing some great comics!

Pat Brosseau @droog811.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

I loved this book when it originally came out! I had another copy of it and of course I tried doing various aspects of it. The inking section was really difficult though because the blue line ink on the pages used in that section didn't hold India ink well. Happy to have an untouched version now!

Time for some B-movie goodness. Terminal Island from 1973! Convicts are sent to an island prison to fend for themselves! Also has a young Tom Selleck in it.

In stores today!! Tales of Wonder #1 from Skybound--by the great Steve Skroce, the incredible Ian Herring and little ol' me on lettering! I had so much fun lettering this book. It's fun and funny and also sheds a lot of light on the world of comics and their creators!

Here I am in the middle of Jim Novak and Bill Oakley from a SDCC in 1994. Two friends and fellow letterers who I miss and appreciate every day. Two titans of lettering who were taken away from us way too early.
