This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

A £300 tax on your UK summer holiday does sound like a lot... So let’s take a look at this tax, put it in a wider context, and find out where that £300 figure came from.👍🏻 1/26 🧵
Telegraph headline:
Labour's £300 tax on your summer staycation.
Families face 'overnight visitor levies' at popular UK tourist spots. Families visiting the nation's best-loved tourist spots face a holiday tax of as much as £300 under a Labour "cash grab" to prop up crumbling councils.

Absolutely not shocking. This is Reform. No idea how things work… what laws really mean… how they protect us… Just peddlers of prejudice. Puppets for whoever’s bought them. They don’t even find out what their party is about when they decide they want to be an MP. All of them unfit for office.

While they cost more up front to buy (we'll get to that shortly), they are far cheaper to run. They dry clothes at a lower temperature, making them more energy efficient and gentler on the clothes, meaning your clothes last longer! 5/

The majority of us see Farage and Reform like this… as a bunch of lying, hypocritical, racist shysters who are totally unfit for office. So why do we have to put up with a media that generally treats us all like we’re the idiotic minority who get taken in by their crap? Be more Private Eye.
REFORM IRONYOMETER
BLOWS UP
by Our Reform Staff in Clacton-on-Sea, Jack Union And George Saint

THERE were fears of a tsunami threatening the coast of Essex as the local ironyometer, hidden underneath the helter-skelter on Clacton pier, started to shake.

The ironyometer was built to monitor the extreme irony of Nigel Farage being the sitting MP for a town he has never visited.

The paradoxical measuring machine began to oscillate dramatically when the leader of Reform attacked the Labour Party, lambasting their vetting process which allowed Peter Mandelson to be appointed.

This was despite the fact that Reform's own candidate vetting process is a lamentable shambles which allows the selection of racists, misogynists and Nazis.

The vibrations intensified when the memory banks of the Ironyometer recalled the fact that Farage had actually approved of Mandelson's appointment at the time, calling him "a very intelligent man"

The conundrum logging device then emitted a loud hiss, causing seagulls to spit out their stolen chips.

A catastrophic failure then followed, with metal work exploding from the helter-skelter-based device, sending bewildered small children flying into the sea on their potato-sack mats.

This was prompted by self-styled
"Shadow Chancellor" Richard Tice refusing to resign over alleged nonpayment of £100,000 of corporation tax, despite having earlier called for Angela Rayner to quit over her own tax affairs. Nigel Farage was not available for comment because we're in Clacton.

Quite the substack post from Paul Krugman. These are desperate times for America and the world.
In fact, Trump is so deeply unwell that it's time to stop blaming him for all the terrible things he's doing. He is what he is. Responsibility for the catastrophe overtaking America now rests with his enablers - people who have to know that he's a sick man but continue to support his depredations.

Some of these enablers are monsters themselves.

For example, Stephen Miller, Trump's immigration czar and the architect of his violent ethnic cleansing policies, is clearly a fanatic who is using Trump to achieve his own fascist goals. However, many of Trump's enablers aren't fanatics, just amoral opportunists. Scott Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, clearly understands how destructive Trump's actions are, evidenced by the fact that he has at times tried to tone them down. But for some inexplicable reason, Bessent has decided to sell his soul to Trump.

And then there are those who revel in the reflected glory, who are such utter narcissists that they're willing to destroy this country in return for the limelight and perks. In that camp we can find Pete Hegseth with his Pentagon makeup studio, who is purging the finest officers in the military; Kristi Noem with her Barbie-in-a-10-gallon-hat act, who positively gushes while calling a murdered mother a terrorist; and Kash Patel, who thinks its fine to fly on an FBI jet to watch his girlfriend sing while overseeing the debasement and corruption of the FBI.
