Ending the export rebate on EVs will show that China's carmakers can compete overseas and force an overcrowded auto industry to grow up

China Can Give Europe a Break on EVs
With Europe and China on the brink of a trade war, Beijing has a stark choice: offer a concession to defuse tension or fan the flames. It should opt for the former, and phasing out an incentive that rewards its carmakers for selling more vehicles overseas is a good place to start.

It's New Jaguar Day, so let's go back to R&T October 1976 when another new, "surprising break with tradition" made it's debut. Time is a flat circle etc etc..
The lead photo of a a Jaguar XJ-S feature from the October 1975 issue of Road & Track. The subhead reads: With Italian styling and British manners, Jaguar's "Finest Yet" is a surprising break with tradition.

‘Tis a stocky thing this is, but despite a stiffer track-focused suspension DNA BMW’s 2027 M5 is a wonderful highway cruiser that enjoys (quickly) grazing up miles comfortably and quietly. Way more than any of the brand’s crossover SUV products.

Here’s a question for the hive…how relevant/important is it to you if the vehicle you’re considering purchasing wins a NACTOY or World Car award? Does it boost your confidence in the product and push you more towards it? Could you care less?

A silver Mitsubishi Outlander Sport that alleges to be a 2026 but is indistinguishable from a car built in 2012 next to a green Aston Martin Valhalla and a red Corvette Grand Sport.
